We are fundraising to keep food on the table for kinship families

Families raising grandchildren should never have to choose between paying bills or putting food on the table. With SNAP benefits being stolen and no federal or state replacement plan in place as of December 21, 2024, our kinship caregivers need your help more than ever.

Due to the expiration of the federal SNAP Replacement Reimbursement Program, families who rely on SNAP for groceries now have no recourse when their benefits are stolen. We’ve heard from multiple ISDD families who are affected by this and are struggling to keep the children in their care fed. We don't think this is a coincidence. The families calling are all sharing the same sentiments:

“I logged into my SNAP account the day I was supposed to receive the benefit to find that the money was already gone. It was spent by someone other than me. What am I supposed to do to feed my family?”

"I’ve tried reaching out to other organizations to help with food for my family, but I’m being turned away. There are too many people requesting help with not enough food to go around."

These families, majority grandparents who are already on fixed incomes and rely on SNAP to feed the children in the care, can no longer do so. Your donation will directly fund grocery assistance, assuring no child goes hungry. If you do not have the means to donate, you can help by advocating for our kinship caregivers!
