Grandparents raising children struggle to provide for them.

Grandparents, living on fixed incomes, never expected to be raising children again. They're part of the "Hidden Foster Care System" - outside the official one, without the financial supports and services. For every one child in kinship foster care in the Georgia, there are 28 living with relatives outside the system, that's more than 300,000 children in the state.

The holidays are especially difficult for these families because just having enough food for everyone is a challenge. The presence of a child in the home of a senior is an indicator that there is not enough food in the household. Never mind being able to afford clothes for growing children or some toys to make them smile. That's not in the budget.

With YOUR help Project GRANDD (Grandparents Raising And Nurturing Dependents with Disabilities) can provide food, warm clothing, toys for the children and a nice gift for the grandparents (because they always put themselves last) through our Adopt-a-Family program.
